Computing at Queen Mary Avenue

At Queen Mary Avenue the children use computing for lots of different aspects of the curriculum:

  • communicating ideas
  • creating, storing and retrieving information
  • solving problems
  • solving and creating their own algorithms
  • debugging algorithms
  • understanding how to use technology safely and respectfully
  • graphic art and design
  • researching

Each class has regular access to computing through the use of class computers, I-pads and interactive boards in the classroom. The use of the Internet is regulated through filtered access and children are not permitted to use the Internet without adult supervision. Where possible, computing is taught within cross-curricular ways, using it to enhance lessons, particularly maths, science and design technology.
