Be Safe, Be Seen!
On Monday 20th November we had a Road Safety Awareness assembly lead by Mrs Rolfe with some special visitors.
Paula and Ryan, from Kettle Funeral Care in partnership with the Coop, joined Mrs Beryl Quantrill, our Lollipop Lady of 53 years, joined Mrs Rolfe in delivering the importance message of staying safe when out and about during the dark nights.
Paula said “As part of our be safe be seen campaign and due to the clock change meaning darker nights, we decided to get involved with the local infant school by donating reflective badges to be worn on the outer clothing. A vital part of our message was that these badges would not make the children invincible or suddenly give them super powers but would hopefully encourage drivers to be more cautious. Always remembering the green Cross Code and crossing with the lollipop lady.”

Welcome to the website for Queen Mary Avenue Infant and Nursery School
On behalf of the children, staff and governors I wish you a very warm welcome.
If you are to visit our school you will find that the children at Queen Mary Avenue Infant and Nursery School are full of life, happy, enthusiastic and keen to learn.
Our school has a strong feel of inclusivity and shared belief that, with the right support, every child can succeed. Our caring and talented team work hard to nurture and develop the learning behaviours that our children will need to take them through life. Therefore a big focus is placed on a positive self-esteem, self-confidence to ‘have a go!’ and resilience to ‘keep trying!’
Our children learn through a range of exciting themes which are enriched by visitors to our school and visits to many places of interest. Learning is enhanced further by the opportunity to take part in our wide range of school clubs. We are particularly proud to be a ‘forest school’.
We are very fortunate that many of our staff give generously of their time to ensure that our children have access to as many experiences as possible. As a result we are involved in a variety of sporting competitions competing against other schools in the area. Science is also very important to our school and we run a very popular Science Club. There is something for everyone!
At Queen Mary Avenue Infant and Nursery School, we work closely with our families and the wider community to give our children the very best support possible. We have an open door policy and our parents and carers are readily invited into school to be a part of our learning, events and celebrations.
As you walk around our school you will see that we are on a continual journey of improvement. This is evident in our learning environment, practice and as you see our children work & play. We strive for success for all, both academically and in educating & nurturing our children to grow into responsible global citizens.
Thank you for visiting our website, I hope that you will find what you are looking for. However, please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like some further information or arrange a visit.
