Don't be late, through the gate
Arriving at school on time is an important part of good attendance.
School starts at 08.45am - please arrive on time. Arriving late not only disrupts your child’s learning but that of the other children in their class.
A child arriving after 08.45am is marked in the register as late.
Collecting children from school is just as important as children feel worried and anxious if their grown up is not there to pick them up at home time.
Attendance Procedures
If your child is poorly, please contact school before 8:45am to let us know they are going to be absent.
You can ring us on 01472 230230 or email admin@qma.nelcmail.co.uk
If we have not heard from you by 9am, a member of the attendance team will make contact to check whether everything is OK.
Our education welfare officer may also make a home visit.
We may also contact the police if we have exhausted all of our means of making contact with families.
To help you keep track of your child’s attendance we will send out attendance information each term.
In cases of low attendance, we may invite you into school for a ‘school attendance panel’ meeting. Again, this is a supportive meeting to discuss your child’s attendance and offer any support needed.
If attendance does not improve after taking these measures, a further governor attendance panel will take place.
The consequence of continued poor attendance could result in legal action being taken with fines imposed.
